Chelsea Waterfront Explores the Role of Sound in Shaping How We Experience Home

As expectations of luxury living evolve, design is no longer defined solely by what we see. Increasingly, it is shaped by how a space makes us feel.

At Chelsea Waterfront, we brought this conversation to life through Emotion by Design – a collaboration between BAYA Interiors and French acoustic engineering maison Devialet, marking the unveiling of BAYA’s Tower East penthouse.

The event positioned the apartment not simply as a designed space, but as a composed environment – where interiors and sound work together to shape atmosphere and experience.

Framing a new conversation around living environments

Working with BAYA and Devialet, we developed a narrative rooted in a shared philosophy: both brands operate in the “emotion business”, using different disciplines to shape how a space is experienced.

This allowed us to move beyond interiors or technology in isolation, and instead explore how experience is intentionally created.

From design to experience

The penthouse became a live demonstration of this thinking.

Each space was tuned to a different emotional register – from sociability in the living areas to focus and calm in more private rooms – with Devialet’s soundscapes layered into BAYA’s interior scheme.

Sound was positioned not as an addition, but as an integral design element — shaping how the space is perceived and used.

Reflecting a shift in luxury expectations

The salon-style discussion between BAYA and Devialet explored how design and technology are increasingly aligned around experience.

Today’s luxury audience expects more than well-designed spaces. They expect environments that respond – supporting different moments throughout the day, from hosting to retreat.

By framing the event in this way, we positioned Chelsea Waterfront within this broader shift in how homes are conceived.

Positioning beyond property

Our work demonstrates how residential developments can move beyond traditional property marketing to become platforms for cultural dialogue.

At Chelsea Waterfront, this means creating moments that connect design, technology and lifestyle – reinforcing its position as a place where contemporary living is actively being defined.
