Battersea Power Station is one of London’s most significant mixed-use developments. Kallaway was appointed to lead placemaking communications, with a focus on Circus West Village – the first phase of the site to open to the public – and to attract residents, visitors and inbound tourists to a new riverside destination.
We positioned Circus West Village as the fresh expression of the emerging riverside living, dining and culture at Battersea Power Station.
We established clear messaging for the destination and supported each of the retailer openings on the site – coordinating their marketing activity to ensure impactful and joined up campaigns aligned with the development’s overall positioning.
We established cultural credibility launching the development’s public art programme in partnership with Battersea Arts Centre, The Southbank Centre and CASS Sculpture Foundation – including the instillation of new contemporary works by a British and a Malaysian artists.
We helped create and maximise footfall driving initiatives. These included summer holiday family festivals to Battersea’s first Seafood Festival. This initiative showcased Circus West’s unique riverside living and dining offer. Our campaign attracted over 20,000 people to the five day festival resulting in record-breaking restaurant sales across the site.
Circus West Village is now established as a London destination in its own right – a place that drives footfall, supports its operators and shapes how investors and home buyers perceive the wider development.
