Celebrated dancer and choreographer Akram Khan and producer Farooq Chaudhry create works that cross boundaries and explore the unfamiliar. They wanted to grow the profile and critical acclaim of Akram Khan Company beyond dance fans and drive ticket sales.
We worked with Akram Khan Company for eight years, building the company’s profile through an international trend-setting media campaign complemented by individual campaigns to support each production.
We maximised collaborations with high-profile artists such as Juliette Binoche, Sylvie Guillem, Antony Gormley and Anish Kapoor and delivered coverage across the world’s most influential print media, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ and Esquire. Broadcast highlights included Akram on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, a BBC Imagine documentary and regular cultural commentary appearances on flagship current affairs programmes such as Newsnight.
Akram was awarded an MBE for services to dance and is recognised as one of most significant dancers and choreographers in the world.
